Judy Nickell's advocacy for immigrants has grown with her personal experiences which evolved naturally having a combined Mexican and Midwest United States heritage. She spent large portions of her early life in Central Indiana, and as both a child and adult in Mexico (Merida, Yucatan, and Mexico City.) She has extensive business development experience in Mexico, especially in regards to public relations. A significant portion of her work in Mexico involved the rich, artistic heritage of the country as a whole. Upon returning the Indiana in 2000, her advocacy was displayed in her long hours as a contract medical interpreter consisting of numerous occasions of problem solving for Spanish-speaking immigrants. She enjoys traveling with her family, architecture, art, and meeting people from different cultures and backgrounds.
